Management Information Systems Undergraduate Program

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Undergraduate Program aims to educate professionals who can address the needs of organizations in today’s digital economy by integrating technology and business disciplines. Our program is designed to prepare graduates who are proficient in the design, development, and management of information systems while also possessing in-depth knowledge of core business functions such as management, finance, marketing, and strategy.

Program Description and Objectives

Management Information Systems is a discipline concerned with the effective planning, analysis, design, and management of information technologies, business processes, and human resources in line with an organization’s strategic objectives.

The primary objective of the program is to equip graduates with the ability to bridge an organization’s technological infrastructure and its strategic management functions. In this way, our graduates are able to improve the efficiency of technology investments, optimize business processes, and strengthen data-driven decision-making mechanisms.

Our curriculum is designed not only to provide students with a strong theoretical foundation, but also to equip them with practical competencies that prepare them for both current and future industry needs:

  • Interdisciplinary and Strong Foundation: From the first year onward, the curriculum combines courses in business, economics, and basic sciences with the fundamentals of information systems and algorithmic thinking, providing students with a comprehensive perspective.

  • Advanced Technical Competence: Through courses such as Object-Oriented Programming, Advanced Database Systems, Web-Based Application Development, and Business Data Communications, students develop in-depth technical skills in modern software development and systems management.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making Skills: Courses such as Business Statistics, Data Mining, Machine Learning Applications, and Decision Support Systems for Business enable students to analyze and interpret large volumes of data and use them effectively in strategic decision-making processes.

  • Strategic Technology Management Competence: Courses such as Systems Analysis and Design, Information Systems Project Management, and Enterprise Information Systems (ERP) provide comprehensive training on managing technology projects and systems in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Opportunity to Specialize in Emerging Technologies: A broad range of elective courses allows students to develop expertise in highly demanded fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and DevOps.

  • Applied Learning and Industry Experience: Mandatory summer internships and the comprehensive Graduation Project completed in the final semester enable students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world problems and graduate as confident, professionally prepared individuals.

Curriculum Structure and Educational Process

1st and 2nd Semesters: Students build a foundation in core areas such as business, economics, and mathematics, while being introduced to information systems and the fundamental logic of programming.

3rd and 4th Semesters: Core competencies are developed through a focus on databases, object-oriented programming, network systems, and fundamental business functions such as finance and marketing.

5th and 6th Semesters: Students progress to advanced topics such as systems analysis, project management, and data mining. Through complementary and departmental elective courses, they begin to shape their areas of specialization in line with their career goals.

7th and 8th Semesters: Academic competence is further advanced through subjects such as machine learning, e-business management, and decision support systems. The Graduation Project brings together the knowledge and skills acquired over four years and completes the transition to professional life.
